Wholesome or meritorious volitions pertaining to the fine material sphere (or plane or realm), lead to the fifteen realms of fine material spheres or rupa planes. There birth-linking consciousness is followed by resultant consciousness of the fine material sphere.
Meritorious volition pertaining to the non-material sphere, i.e., the unshakable volition or anenjabhi sankhara, gives results in the four realms of non-material sphere. There birth-linking consciousness is followed by resultant consciousness of the non-material sphere.
Good or bad volitions give rise to resultant consciousness appropriate to them.
The four stages of endowment (samangita) can be stated in brief and will follow in the next posts.
